What is it?
The Reporting Hours settings in WorkEasy allow you to control how employees clock in and out, whether through time clocks, the web, or mobile devices. You can set up shift rules, time codes, location and IP restrictions, and more, all customized by company, group, or employee.
When to use it
Use Reporting Hours settings when you need to:
Enable employees to clock in/out via time clock, mobile, or web.
Define shift parameters or daily hour rules.
Enforce time capture security via IP, geolocation, or device.
How to set it up
Go to Global Settings > Time Tracking > Reporting Hours.
Choose Company, Group, or Employee level.
Enter a Rule Name and set the Effective Start Date.
General setup
Clock In/Out type:
User Selection: employees select Clock In, Clock Out, Break
Quick Punch: system auto-assigns IN/OUT without breaks
Max Shift Length and Max Rest in a Shift: define work and break limits
Daily Hours Allocation: choose how overnight hours are assigned
Default Time Code: assign worked hours, PTO, etc.
Optionally require Employee Comments or Manager Notes
Optional: Disable Smart Clocking or assign a Default Pay Entity
Employee reporting methods
Check the methods your employees will use:
Web or mobile clocking
Time clocks, kiosks, or automatic/manual timesheets
Optional: require photo, enforce geolocation or IMEI device restrictions
Web clock in/out options
IP Limitation: allow all or restrict to approved IP addresses
For restricted IPs, choose to Deny or Allow and Flag
Mobile clock in/out settings
Use mobile device’s local time (vs. profile time zone)
Optional: require photo, enforce or flag geolocation
Restrict by specific device (IMEI or ID)
Automatic hours (optional)
Predefine hours per day for roles not punching in/out
Job costing (optional)
Display job list
Require job selection
Assign a default job
Finish setup
Click Save to apply your configuration.
