Configure Kiosk Settings

Kiosk settings define how employees clock in and out on kiosk devices, including authentication, validation, job assignment, and recurrence behavior.

Create a kiosk settings rule

  1. Go to Global Settings > Devices > Kiosk Settings.

  2. Click Create Rule. If no rule exists, the page displays Nothing has been added yet.


    If a rule exists, the page displays existing rules.

Create or update a kiosk settings rule

  1. Choose one of the following audiences:    

    1. Everyone.

    2. Specific group.

    3. Specific kiosk.

      1. If Specific kiosk is selected, select the applicable kiosk device(s) the rule should apply to.

  2. Under Employee verification, choose one of the following methods:    

    1. Employee ID / PIN.

    2. Employee ID.

    3. PIN.

  3. Enable or disable Show employee list.

  4. Under Validation, enter the Consecutive Punch Window (sec).

  5. Under Job Costing, select a Default Job if applicable.

  6. Enable or disable Has recurrence.

    1. If recurrence is enabled, select a Recurrence type.

      Choose one of the following:    

      1. Daily

      2. Weekly

      3. Monthly

      4. Days ON and days OFF

      5. Custom cycle

      6. Advanced

  7. Enable or disable Do not override.

  8. Click Save.

View and manage kiosk settings rules

  1. Select a rule to view details or use filters:

    1. All.

    2. Everyone.

    3. Groups.

    4. Kiosk.

  2. Enable or disable Include ended rules.

  3. Set Effective as of to view rules by date.

  4. Click the edit icon (pencil) to modify a rule or the end icon (circle with a slash)  to deactivate it.

  5. To see where a device has been assigned to, click View Assignments and select a device.


Best practices

  1. Create separate rules when kiosk behavior differs by location or device.

  2. Use specific kiosk targeting for device-level control.

  3. Set a reasonable consecutive punch window.

  4. Use recurrence for scheduled configurations.
