Configure Kiosk Permissions

Kiosk permissions control which kiosk or kiosks an employee is allowed to use. Reporting Hours determine whether an employee can use a kiosk at all. Kiosk permissions determine where the employee can punch. A kiosk can run on a tablet or on a supported time clock device.

This article explains how to configure kiosk permissions at the Company, Group, or Employee level.

Before configuring kiosk permissions, complete the following:

  • A kiosk has been created.

  • The kiosk has been activated on a tablet or time clock device.

  • Kiosk Clock In and Clock Out is enabled in Reporting Hours.

Navigate to kiosk permissions

  1. Log in to WorkEasy Software.

  2. Navigate to Global Settings > Devices > Kiosk Permissions.

How kiosk permissions work

  • Kiosk permissions define which kiosk devices or kiosk groups an employee can use.

  • At least one kiosk or kiosk group must be assigned.

  • Permissions can allow all kiosks, all kiosk groups, or specific selections.

Kiosk permissions apply regardless of whether the kiosk is running on a tablet or a time clock device.

Create or edit a kiosk permission rule

Select the configuration level

  1. Select Company, Group, or Employee as the configuration level.

  2. Select the + button next to the chosen level.

  3. Under Role, select Employee or AdministratorRole selection in kiosk permissions

Assign kiosk groups

  1. Select the device link icon next to All Kiosk Groups.

  2. Select one or more kiosk groups.

  3. Select OK.

  4. To allow access to all kiosk groups, select All Kiosk GroupsAll kiosk groups option

Assign individual kiosks

  1. Select the monitor icon next to All Kiosks.

  2. Select one or more kiosks.

  3. Select OK.

  4. To allow access to all kiosks, select All Kiosks.

Save the rule

  1. Review the kiosk or kiosk group selection.

  2. Confirm the assigned employees or groups.

  3. Select SaveSave kiosk permissions rule

The rule applies immediately to kiosk punch attempts.

Kiosk permissions and Reporting Hours

  • Reporting Hours control whether an employee can use a kiosk.

  • Kiosk permissions control which kiosks the employee can use.

  • Both must be configured for kiosk punching to succeed.

Common configurations

Employee restricted to one location

  • Kiosk Clock In and Clock Out enabled in Reporting Hours.

  • Only the location kiosk group is assigned.

Manager access to all kiosks

  • Kiosk Clock In and Clock Out enabled in Reporting Hours.

  • All Kiosks or All Kiosk Groups enabled.

Multi-location employee

  • Multiple kiosk groups assigned.
