Kiosk permissions control which kiosk or kiosks an employee is allowed to use. Reporting Hours determine whether an employee can use a kiosk at all. Kiosk permissions determine where the employee can punch. A kiosk can run on a tablet or on a supported time clock device.
This article explains how to configure kiosk permissions at the Company, Group, or Employee level.
Before configuring kiosk permissions, complete the following:
A kiosk has been created.
The kiosk has been activated on a tablet or time clock device.
Kiosk Clock In/Out is enabled in Global Settings >Time Tracking > Reporting Hours.
Kiosk Permissions
Kiosk Permissions control which kiosks or kiosk groups employees can use when clocking in or out. You can create rules for all employees, specific groups, or individual employees. Rules can allow access to all kiosks, all kiosk groups, or selected kiosks and groups only. These permissions apply whether the kiosk runs on a tablet or a physical time clock device.
Important: Kiosk Permissions determine which kiosks employees are allowed to use. Reporting Hours rules determine whether kiosk punching is allowed. Both configurations must be set correctly for kiosk punching to work.
Create a Kiosk Permissions rule
Go to Global Settings > Devices > Kiosk Permissions.
Select Create Rule.
Select the audience for the rule: Everyone, Specific group, or Specific employee.
Select the employee Role.
Configure kiosk group access.
Select All Kiosk Groups to allow access to all kiosk groups.
To assign specific kiosk groups, select the Device groups icon, select one or more groups, and then select OK.
Configure kiosk access.
Select All Kiosks to allow access to all kiosks.
To assign specific kiosks, select the device icon, select one or more kiosks, and then select OK.
Select Save.
Edit a Kiosk Permissions rule
Go to Global Settings > Devices > Kiosk Permissions.
Find the rule you want to update. Use the audience filters, search field, or Effective as of field to narrow the list.
Select the Edit icon in the Actions column.
Update the kiosk groups or devices.
Select Save.
