How to Add Shift Differentials

How to add Shift Differential premiums based on your company's union rules.

1. Click the Global Settings Cog Wheel 

2. Click Time and Attendance to expand the options and select Shift Differential

3. Select an Assignment Group. Click here to learn about the Assignment Group  Hierarchy.

•  Company – Applies to the whole company 
•  Group – Applies to a group of employees such as a particular location or department
•  Employee – Select one or more employees for individual application

4. Enter or select the necessary configurations:

Setting	Description
Rule Name	Display name of the Shift Differential Rule
Rule Effective Start Date	When should this rule go into effect?
Enabled	Enables/Disables the Shift Differential from being in use
	Add a Shift Differential that applies to each day.
	Add a Shift Differential that applies to each week.

5. Add Shift Differential Time Codes based on the number of Shift Differentials required.

6. Select a Shift Differential Type. 

* Click the button to add additional Shift Differentials.

Add Day Differential 

Setting	Description
Split From	Start time of the Time Code conversion (e.g. Worked Hours to Shift Differential 1).
Split To	Start time of the next corresponding Shift Differential.
From	Time Code to be converted from * e.g. 1. from Worked Hours to Shift Differential 1 2. from Shift Differential 1 to Shift Differential 2 3. from Shift Differential 2 to Shift Differential 3
To	Select the Time Code added specifically for Shift Differentials.
	Add a Time Code Transformation for Exporting purposes (optional)

Add Week Differential 

Setting	Description
Day of Week	First day of the week to be considered in the Weekly Shift Differential calculation.  * Defaults to the current day
Split From	Start time of the Time Code conversion (e.g. Worked Hours to Shift Differential 1).
Day of Week	Start time of the next corresponding Shift Differential.
Split To	Start time of the next corresponding Shift Differential.
From	Time Code to be converted from * e.g. 1. from Worked Hours to Shift Differential 1 2. from Shift Differential 1 to Shift Differential 2 3. from Shift Differential 2 to Shift Differential 3
To	Select the Time Code added specifically for Shift Differentials.
	Add a Time Code Transformation for Exporting purposes (optional)
