FAQs

Device And Hardware

Is the Xenio M2000 a mobile device or a wall-mounted terminal?

Both. The Xenio M2000 can be used as a handheld device, or mounted in a fixed location using the mounting bracket.

Is the Xenio M2000 weatherproof?

The device is rated IP65, which means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets, not immersion or heavy direct rainfall. It is suitable for sheltered or semi-outdoor installations. Do not install it where it will be submerged or directly exposed to heavy weather.

What temperatures can the Xenio M2000 handle?

The operating range is -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).

Do the port covers matter?

Yes. Keep port covers closed when ports are not in use to help maintain ingress protection.

Power And Battery

Does the Xenio M2000 require an external power supply?

It can run on battery, and it can also be powered continuously when mounted. Your kit may include a USB-C charging setup, a 12V DC pigtail plug, or both, depending on deployment.

What should I do before first-time use?

Remove the battery protection pull-tab, then fully charge the device before first use.

Can I power the device with USB-C or 12V DC?

Yes. The device supports USB-C charging and 12V DC input. Use the power method provided for your deployment and installation type.

Can I connect USB-C and 12V DC at the same time?

No. Use one power source at a time. If the device is mounted and powered via the 12V DC input, the mounting setup may cover the USB-C port.

Can the device run solely on battery?

Yes. If your deployment uses battery-only operation, charge the device fully and recharge it regularly based on your usage.

Connectivity And SIM

Can the Xenio M2000 use Wi-Fi instead of cellular?

Yes. The device supports Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

Does the Xenio M2000 support cellular connectivity?

Yes, when your deployment includes an active SIM for LTE connectivity. If your organization did not purchase or provide a SIM, cellular connectivity may not be part of your deployment.

Do I need to configure the APN?

Usually no. Most carriers auto-provision. Some business SIMs may require manual APN entry. If your SIM requires APN settings, contact your administrator or Support for the correct values.

I see more than one SIM slot. Which one should I use?

Follow the instructions provided with your deployment kit. If you were not given slot-specific instructions, do not test multiple slots. Contact Support with a photo of the SIM bay and your deployment details.

Installation And Setup

What causes most installation issues?

The most common causes are poor lighting, incorrect mounting height, and network connectivity problems.

How do I verify the device is online?

Check the device network status indicator on the device screen, then confirm the device shows as connected in the admin portal.

Can the device be relocated easily?

Yes, but relocation requires repeating the mounting, lighting, and network checks to ensure reliable performance.

Facial Recognition Performance

What lighting conditions are recommended for reliable recognition?

Use a well-lit area, avoid backlight and direct sunlight, and minimize glare and shadows. For best results, use even lighting and a neutral background.

If the device does not recognize employees consistently, what should I check first?

First check lighting for glare or shadow, confirm mounting height and user distance, confirm the enrollment is high quality, and clean the camera lens if it has smudges.

What Not to Touch or Configure

What are the SAM card slots, and should I use them?

Customers should not use or configure SAM card slots. They are reserved for internal, compliance, or service use based on deployment requirements.

Should I insert a microSD card?

Only if your deployment explicitly requires it and you were provided a microSD card and instructions. If not, do not insert a microSD card. Contact Support if you believe your deployment needs one.

Should I press the reset button?

No. Do not press the reset button unless Support explicitly instructs you to do so as part of a guided troubleshooting process.
