What these settings do
These features don’t change whether time is marked Out-of-Shift (OOS) or Unplanned (USCH). Instead, they define how time is interpreted for automation, punctuality, and reporting clarity.
Grace periods
Grace periods define time buffers before or after scheduled shifts to avoid flagging employees as early or late for small variances.
Setting | Behavior |
---|---|
Early arrival grace period | Prevents early flags if employees clock in within the defined time before their scheduled start. |
Late arrival grace period | Prevents late flags if employees clock in shortly after their scheduled start. Also determines how long the system waits before marking an employee as a no-show. |
Early departure grace period | Prevents early out flags if employees clock out just before their scheduled end time. |
Late departure grace period | Allows slightly late clock-outs to be treated as on time within the grace period. |
Auto clocking
Auto clocking ensures that time is still recorded when employees forget to punch in or out.
Setting | Behavior |
---|---|
Auto clock-in | Automatically clocks in the employee after a set time past their scheduled start if no punch is recorded. |
Auto clock-out | Automatically clocks out the employee after a set time past their scheduled end if no punch is recorded. |
