Overview
Use this procedure to manually download employee punch data from a time clock when the device is offline or cannot sync data automatically.
Prerequisites
The time clock is running app version 1.2.5 or higher.
A compatible USB flash drive is available.
You can authenticate on the time clock using PIN, badge, biometric, or another enabled method.
Verify the time clock app version
Press Menu on the time clock.
Authenticate.
Select About device.
Locate App version.
Confirm the version is 1.2.5 or higher.
If the app version is lower than 1.2.5, update the device before continuing.
Download punch data to a USB flash drive
Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the back of the time clock.

Press Menu.

Authenticate.
Select About device.

Select the Tools tab.

Select Export to USB.

Select the punch data type to download.

All – Downloads all punch data currently stored on the time clock.
Only New – Downloads only punch data that has not yet been synced to the software.
The selected punch data is written automatically to the USB flash drive.

Access the downloaded punch data
Remove the USB flash drive from the time clock.
Insert the USB flash drive into a computer.
Open the USB drive contents.
Locate the downloaded punch file.
Punch file types
WE_All_Punches: Downloads all punch data currently stored on the time clock.
WE_New_Punches: Downloads only punch data that has not yet been synced to the software.
Tips and best practices
Use Only New downloads to avoid duplicate punch records.
Use USB flash drives dedicated to time clock data.
Safely eject the USB flash drive after each use.
Verify downloaded data if the time clock was offline for an extended period.
FAQs and troubleshooting
The Tools option does not appear
The time clock app version is below 1.2.5. USB downloads are not available on earlier versions.
The USB flash drive is not detected
Confirm the USB flash drive is fully inserted and formatted using a supported file system, such as FAT32.
Which file should be opened
Open WE_All_Punches for a full export. Open WE_New_Punches for unsynced data only.
Can the punch file be edited
Editing punch data files is not recommended. Modifying files may cause data inconsistencies during review or import.
