Platform Configuration Prerequisite

The ability to configure out-of-shift rules in Scheduling relies on a platform setting that is enabled by default:

  1. Go to Global Settings from the left-hand menu.

  2. Expand Platform Settings, then click Platform Configuration.

  3. Select Time and Attendance.

  4. Confirm that Enable the option to choose the Out of Shift time code is selected.

This setting allows the “Automatically approve Out of Shift as” dropdown to appear in Scheduling configurations. If it’s ever disabled, out-of-shift rules will not be available.

Unplanned Work (USCH) refers to any hours logged by an employee without a corresponding scheduled shift. These hours are automatically classified as USCH unless a manager manually reviews and reclassifies them.

Out-Of-Shift (OOS) work refers to hours worked outside of an employee’s scheduled shift, either before the shift begins or after it ends. Employers can choose whether these hours should be paid or ignored. WorkEasy Software provides configurable options to approve or flag these hours for manual review automatically.

Navigation

  • Go to Global Settings > Time Tracking > Attendance by Schedule.

  • Select an assignment scope: Company, Group, or Employee.
