Admins and managers can add time codes to classify employees’ hours or determine a rate of pay. Time codes can also be paired with shift differentials to apply different rates for specific shifts. They appear on employees’ timesheets and determine how hours are processed and paid.
Go to Global Settings > Time Tracking > Time Code List.
This image shows the built-in time codes. To add new ones, click the three dots, then select Add.

In the Name field, enter a clear label employees will recognize.
In the Code field, enter a short, unique code used in reports and exports. Then choose a Rate Type and click Save.
For Rate Type, select the applicable rate. The most common is Base Rate.
For Exports, select Export Time Code.
If your payroll export requires a different code, enter an Export Code.
Click Save.
