When creating a training, you must choose how employees complete the training requirement. The selected completion method determines what employees see, how completion is recorded, and whether manager verification is required.
Go to HR Data Management → Training and select New training. In Step 1: Details, select a completion method under How is it completed? After completing the required details, select Next: Content to configure the content or instructions for that method.
Completion methods overview
WorkEasy Software provides four completion methods. Select the option that best matches how employees complete the training.
Completion Method | Best Used For | Manager Review Required |
|---|---|---|
Visit external link | Training hosted in an external LMS or vendor portal | Required when Employees can mark as completed is disabled |
Read & acknowledge | Policies, procedures, handbooks | No |
Upload proof | Certificates or proof of completion | Required when Employees can mark as completed is disabled |
Manager sign-off | Hands-on or instructor-led training | Yes. A manager records attendance and signs off |
Visit external link
Select Visit external link when employees complete training in an external learning management system (LMS) or another training website.
Employees open the external website, complete the training, and then return to mark the assignment as completed.
Examples include:
Safety training portals
Vendor certification websites
Corporate LMS platforms
In Step 2: Content, enter the training website address in Content URL. You can also add Instructions for the employee (optional).
Enable Require proof upload if employees must submit a certificate, screenshot, or other evidence of completion after completing the external training.

Read & acknowledge
Select Read & acknowledge when employees must review information and confirm they have read and understood it.
This option is commonly used for:
Employee handbooks
Company policies
Compliance documents
Workplace procedures
In Step 2: Content, enter the information employees must review in Policy text. Employees read the policy in WorkEasy Software, select I have read and understand this policy, enter their full name exactly as shown in their profile, and select Sign and submit.
Upload proof
Select Upload proof when employees must provide documentation showing they completed training.
Examples include:
Certification certificates
Course completion documents
Licenses
Continuing education records
In Step 2: Content, enter Instructions explaining what employees must upload.
When Employees can mark as completed is selected, submitting proof completes the assignment without manager verification. When it is cleared, the submission requires manager verification before the assignment is marked complete.
Manager sign-off
Select Manager sign-off when completion must be verified in person.
This option is commonly used for:
Equipment demonstrations
Hands-on training
Practical evaluations
Instructor-led training sessions
In Step 1: Details, enter the date and time of the training session in Training date.
In Step 2: Content, use What does the manager attest to? to describe what the manager is confirming.
Employees can view the training details but cannot complete this method themselves. A manager records completion.
Employees can mark as completed
This setting is available for Visit external link and Upload proof. When enabled, employees can submit completion from My portal → Training and complete the assignment without manager verification. Any required proof must still be uploaded.
When disabled, employees can select Submit for verification. The assignment remains Awaiting verification until a manager approves it.
Read & acknowledge uses an acknowledgement and typed-name signature. Manager sign-off requires the manager to record attendance; employees cannot complete it themselves.
