Create a Shift Template

Prev Next

Shift templates are reusable shifts that can be added to schedules from the Scheduler or Shift Planner. A template can store shift times, display color, schedule criteria, estimated break time, and other shift details.

Navigation: Products → Scheduling → Shift Templates

Create a shift template

  1. Open Scheduling, and then select the Shift Templates tab.

  2. Open the More actions menu and select Add.

  1. Complete the template settings available for your configuration.

Setting

Description

Name

Enter the name displayed in the Shift Templates list.

Color

Select the color used to identify shifts created from the template.

Start time

Set the shift start time.

End time

Set the shift end time.

Shift Type

Select whether the shift ends on the same day or continues into another day. WorkEasy displays the calculated duration beside this field.

Locations, Departments, and Positions

Job

Select a job when job information is used for scheduling.

Est. Break (min.)

Mark the shift as critical when the organization's scheduling process uses this classification.

Notes

Add information that users should see in the shift details.

Configuration: Schedule criteria are managed from Global Settings → Scheduling → Schedule Criteria. The fields shown in a shift template can vary based on configuration.

  1. Select Save.

Result: The template appears in the Shift Templates list and is available for reuse while building schedules.
