Locations represent physical or operational sites within your organization and are used for scheduling, reporting, employee assignments, and time tracking.
Locations are typically created during onboarding, but administrators can add or update locations as needed.
Important: Locations is the default required group type in WorkEasy Software and cannot be renamed or archived.
Add a location
Go to Global Settings > Platform Settings > Group Values > Locations.
Click the ellipsis icon, then select Add.
Enter the location name.
Select the appropriate time zone.
Optionally assign a geofence.
Click Save.

How location time zones work
Each location is associated with a time zone. Employees, devices (such as time clocks), departments, and positions assigned to that location inherit the location’s time zone configuration. Changing the time on a time clock is the same as changing its time zone, so to change the time on a time clock, change the time zone of its location.
Important: Before changing a location’s time zone, all employees, time clocks, departments, and positions currently assigned to that location must first be reassigned to another location.
Examples of locations
Miami Headquarters
Dallas Distribution Center
Retail Store 102
West Coast Warehouse
Remote Operations Office
Note: Locations can also be used when configuring schedules, reporting rules, geofences, and manager visibility.
