How to Add or Update Overtime Rules

Overtime rules are configured during onboarding (in the Initial Setup Wizard). If you need to change those rules, follow these instructions.

  1. Click Global Settings > Time and Attendance > Overtime.
  2. Click Company, Group, or Employee, enter the applicable details, and click Save.
     
    Company Applies to the whole company 
    Group Applies to a particular group of employees by location or dept
    Employee Applies to one or more employees



  3. Enter Rule Name and select Effective Start Date
  4. Select a Type based on the time frame associated with your company's overtime rules. For each type selected, a correspondent type appears on the screen. Click the plus sign to expand it and make your selections.

  5. Once you have made your selections, click Save.

Type Description
Weekly Overtime is paid once an employee works over a specified number of hours in a week
Daily Overtime is paid once an employee works over a specified number of hours in a single day
Consecutive Days Overtime is paid on the 6th or 7th consecutive day at a specified time
Time of day Overtime is paid after reaching a specified time of the day
