How to Enable Auto-Transfer in Job Costing

Overview

Auto-transfer simplifies job costing for businesses with multiple time clocks by automating job assignments. Employees only need to verify their identity—the system handles clock-ins, clock-outs, and job transfers automatically, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

However, manual tracking may be better for jobs requiring close oversight, cost approvals, or flexible allocation. Auto-transfer is ideal for businesses that prioritize speed and accuracy in project tracking, as it reduces errors and streamlines time clock management.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Global Settings > Devices > Time Clock Settings > Company, Group, or Time Clock.

  2. Select the applicable Language & Region and Home Screen Date Style.
  3. Select the applicable Default Job and the checkbox Enable Auto-Transfer.

  4. Click Save.
