How our Biometric Authentication (Fingerprinting) Works

WorkEasy Software’s fingerprint readers are designed to ensure the highest level of security and privacy for biometric data. This article explains how our fingerprint technology works and the measures we take to protect user information.

Key Features of WorkEasy Fingerprint Readers

1. No Storage of Fingerprint Images

Our fingerprint readers do not store actual fingerprint images. Instead, they capture and store a mathematical representation of the minutiae points of an individual's fingerprint. This means that the data cannot be reconstructed into a fingerprint image, prioritizing user privacy and security.

2. Functionality of the Fingerprint Scanner

The fingerprint scanner performs two essential tasks:

  • Capturing an Image of the Finger: When a user places their finger on the scanner, an image is generated that captures the unique patterns of ridges and valleys in the fingerprint.

  • Matching Patterns: The system compares the captured image against pre-scanned representations to determine if there is a match.

3. Secure Data Storage

Only specific characteristics unique to each fingerprint are filtered and saved as an encrypted biometric key. This encrypted key serves as a mathematical representation of the fingerprint. Importantly, no actual image of a fingerprint is ever saved; only a series of numbers (a binary code) is used for verification.

4. Impossibility of Duplication

The algorithms used in our fingerprint technology prevent the mathematical representation from being converted back into an image. As a result, it is virtually impossible to duplicate the original fingerprint from our stored data, significantly enhancing the security of biometric information.

Conclusion

WorkEasy Software is committed to protecting user privacy and ensuring that biometric data is handled securely. Our fingerprint readers use advanced technology to capture and verify fingerprints without compromising the integrity of user information.
