Time in Decimals FAQs

What formats does WorkEasy Software use to display time values?

WorkEasy Software provides two formats:

  • Decimal format: Displays hours as a decimal value (e.g., 7.75)

  • HH:MM format: Displays hours in hours and minutes (e.g., 7:45)

Why is decimal format preferred for calculations?

Decimal format is better suited for payroll and reporting because it expresses minutes as fractions of an hour, making calculations more precise and system-compatible.

How can I enable decimal representation across the platform?

Go to Settings > Platform Settings > Platform Configuration > Time and Attendance and check the box labeled Use decimal representation. You can also define how many decimal places should be displayed.

Can individual users choose their preferred time display format?

Yes. Each user can toggle between decimal and HH:MM formats from the Preferences section of their Timesheet view.

Does changing the timesheet display format affect calculations?

No. This setting changes only how time is displayed. It does not alter how time is stored, calculated, or exported.
