Others prefer 7:30. This article shows how to switch between these two time formats in WorkEasy Software. ## Where you'll see these formats - **Decimal format (e.g., 7.5)** – used in reports, exports, and payroll. - **HH:MM format (e.g., 7:30)** – used in timesheets and manager views. Both represent the same amount of time. Choose the one that works best for you. ## Change your Timesheet display You can switch formats for your own view in the timesheet. 1. Go to **Time and Attendance > Timesheet > Preferences**. 2. Under the **General** section, look for **View in decimals**. 3. Check or uncheck the box based on your preference. This only affects how you see time; calculations stay the same. - Unchecked = HH:MM (e.g., 7:30) - Checked = decimal (e.g., 7.5) 4. Select **Apply**. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/88d7ebef-752e-45d9-95e1-ee13bd7279c5/Images/Documentation/image-9PX8950C.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T16%3A12%3A55Z&se=2026-11-01T17%3A12%3A55Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=swuv7gdjHbeerigwEzvP4noIB%2BzY8TxL5ZcBfRbHyMM%3D) ## Need time in decimals for reports? Admins can turn on decimal formatting system-wide. 1. Go to **Settings > Platform Settings > Platform Configuration > Time and Attendance**. 2. Check **Use decimal representation**. 3. Choose how many decimal places to show (e.g., 1 = 7.5, 2 = 7.50). This will apply to reports and exports. ![](https://cdn.us.document360.io/88d7ebef-752e-45d9-95e1-ee13bd7279c5/Images/Documentation/image-I4K4EO9V.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-01T16%3A12%3A55Z&se=2026-11-01T17%3A12%3A55Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=swuv7gdjHbeerigwEzvP4noIB%2BzY8TxL5ZcBfRbHyMM%3D) ## Summary | What You Can Do | Where | Who It Affects | | --- | --- | --- | | Toggle HH:MM or decimal | Timesheet Preferences | Just you (user) | | Set the system-wide decimal representation | Platform Settings (Admin) | All (reports, payroll) | Want to learn how decimals are calculated?
