You can create rules at the company, group, or employee level to manage how compensatory time off (comp time) is recorded, paid out, or adjusted when employees work during a designated comp time day. This ensures hours are tracked accurately for reporting and payroll.
To open the time off code configuration, go to Global Settings > Time Tracking > Time Off Code Configuration.
In the Time Off Configuration list, choose the time‑off type or the custom type created to store comp time hours.
Select whether the rule will apply at the Company, Group, or Employee level.
Enter the rule details. In the Add: Company Rule window, provide a Rule Name or select a default rule and set the Effective Start Date.
Set how to consider the time off. Under Consider time off as, select the time code to apply when an employee takes comp time. Recommended: Comp Time Off.
Define how to record cash‑outs. Under If time off is cash out, Consider hours as, select the time code to record paid‑out hours. Recommended: Comp Time Off.
Adjust hours worked during comp time. In While time off is in effect, transform worked hours into another code when the employee works on a comp time day. For example, change Worked Hours to Overtime.
Configure advanced options. Expand Advanced to set the time zone behavior and enable recurrence if needed.
Save the rule. Click Save to apply your configuration.
